Imagine a school where you came first. Where you could learn your way. Where you had a say in what you did. Where you were respected for who you were. A school you could attend in the morning, afternoon, or evening. A school you went to a few hours a day. A school closed on Fridays.
Imagine a class of your own: imagine Dartmoor School where learning happens one-to-one at your pace, at your level.

Nicholas K's Dartmoor Experience:
I chose to attend Dartmoor for high school because Dartmoor has many advantages over traditional school. First, the classes at Dartmoor are one-on-one. Having personal access to an instructor allows you to ask as many questions as necessary to understand the material and lets you work through the course material at your own pace.
Second, the one-on-one setting improves your concentration and focus. When you are working directly with a teacher, you are not distracted in the way that you would be in a crowded, noisy classroom.
Another major advantage of Dartmoor is the ability to set your own class schedule. I always chose to start my classes in the mid-morning, which gave me plenty of time to pursue my sport and my class work without losing too much sleep. I was glad that I didn’t have to wake up every day at 6:00 a.m. to catch the bus to school.
Finally, Dartmoor gave me the flexibility in scheduling that I needed to practice and travel for my sport. Most schools have rigid absence policies that restrict the number of classes you can miss and make up. Dartmoor was always flexible and worked around my schedule. By choosing Dartmoor, I was able to advance in my sport and also get a high-quality education that prepared me for college.
Michael S.'s Dartmoor Experience:
My experience at Dartmoor has been great. My previous experiences in math have not been so great. At Dartmoor, the teachers are patient and understanding. They understand that life sometimes gets in the way, and they were willing to work through it with me. I also liked the environment. It's not closed and dark like most regular classrooms. It's also very quiet, so I could work without distractions. The one-on-one instruction stopped me from "zoning out" and I was able to complete two years worth of math in one school year. Thanks Dartmoor!
